IONCOR Unveils Cubic Battery System to Expand Energy Pack Line

Published: 09.06.2026

IONCOR, one of Europe’s leading independent battery system suppliers, has today unveiled the Energy Pack Cubic, a battery system engineered for heavy-duty vehicles and based on LFP chemistry. The system expands IONCOR’s modular Energy Pack line, delivering scalable, high-performance battery solutions. Designed and manufactured in Europe, the portfolio includes Energy Pack, Energy Pack Long, and Energy Pack Cubic, each addressing distinct operational and spatial requirements.

At the core of IONCOR’s offering is a modular design philosophy that enables customers to scale capacity and performance in line with project needs and site constraints. This approach simplifies deployment, integration, and system expansion.

In demanding applications, where space, thermal management, and integration directly impact performance, IONCOR’s Cell-to-Pack architecture integrates cells directly into the structure, reducing system mass and maximizing efficiency.

“Modularity is central to how energy storage must evolve. With the Energy Pack product line, including the new Energy Pack Cubic, we enable customers to tailor solutions in terms of capacity, duration, and physical configuration, ensuring optimal fit for each application while supporting long-term energy transition goals”, said Roberts Abele, CEO, IONCOR.

The Energy Pack provides a compact solution optimized for high power density and efficient deployment, supporting applications such as peak shaving and renewable integration. The Energy Pack achieves a top energy density of up to 300 Wh/l with a capacity of 46.6 kWh, allowing OEMs to maximize usable energy within limited installation space.

The Energy Pack Long extends the product line with longer-duration storage for heavy-duty transport applications, particularly buses and trucks. Engineered for demanding duty cycles, it delivers 79 kWh capacity and a very high energy density of up to 290 Wh/l with the LFP chemistry while supporting reliable operation across varying routes, climates, and charging strategies. Its design enables efficient integration and scalable configurations aligned with fleet and operational requirements.

Expanding the portfolio further, the Energy Pack Cubic introduces a space-efficient format designed to address constraints in system geometry, packaging, and installation. Based on the same technology platform as Energy Pack Long, it delivers comparable functionality while optimizing volume utilization. Designed specifically for off-highway machinery, the Cubic achieves an energy density of up to 265 Wh/l with LFP chemistry, optimized for compact, space-constrained installations.

The Cubic supports use cases such as construction equipment and other off-highway machines, where packaging limitations often define system design. Like all Energy Pack systems, it uses IONCOR’s own battery management system (BMS), ensuring consistent performance, safety, and control while simplifying integration and lifecycle management.

Across the Energy Pack family, systems are developed on a unified architecture and manufactured within Europe, supporting supply chain resilience, regulatory alignment, and consistent quality standards. Together, the portfolio enables OEMs and operators to deploy flexible, scalable battery solutions tailored to specific performance, duration, and packaging requirements across transport, industrial, and energy applications.
